COP24 IN KATOWICE:- Main outcomes —  The 2018 United Nations Climate Changes Conference that took place between 2 and 15 December 2018 in Katowice, Poland, is the 24th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change . Mount Soputan erupted twice on the same day , forcing local residents to move to safer places. Mount Soputan volcano is one of the most active volcanoe on the Sulawesi island in Indonesia.
  4. NITI Aayog Organised Women Transforming India Awards 2018  15 Women entrepreneurs were given awards at the recently concluded Women Transforming India Awards 2018 in New Delhi. The Women Transforming India Awards are organised by NITI Aayog. It was the 3rd edition of these awards.

Joshna Chinappa Wins National Squash Women’s Singles Title  Joshna Chinappa won the National Squash Women’s Singles title after she defeated Urwashi Joshi in the final match of the competition by 9-11, 11-1, 11-6, 11-5. It was her 16th National title and with this win, she has equaled the record of Bhuvaneshwari Kumari of winning 16 titles.
  6. Catriona Gray from Philippines Wins Miss Universe 2018 Title   Catriona Elisa Gray from the Philippines was crowned as the Miss Universe 2018, beating 93 contestants from other countries. She was crowned by Demi Leigh Nel-Peters from South Africa, the Miss Universe 2017 title winner.
  7. PV Sindhu Wins Maiden BWF World Tour Title PV Sindhu , the 2016 Rio Olympic Silver medalist, created history on 16th December 2018 as she became the first Indian to win BWF World Tour Finals.
  8. Belgium Wins Hockey World Cup 2018 Title  Belgium Hockey team won their first ever World Cup title on 16th December 2018 after they defeated The Netherland in sudden death. Belgium , which also won a silver medal in Rio Olympics 2016, made history by beating the opponents by 3-2 in the penalty shoot-out after finals ended without any goal.

Nepal Government Banned all Indian Currency notes above Rupees 100 — The Nepal Government has banned the validity of Indian currency notes of Rupees 2000, 500 and 200 denominations in the country. India is currently Nepal’s largest trade partner, and their decision to ban all Indian currencies above Rs 100 denomination would also affect nepalese people and business for their transactions.
  10. Virat Kohli Breaks another record; now second fastest to score 25 Test Centuries after Sir Don Bradman —  Indian Cricket Team captain Virat Kohli became the second fastest player to score 25 Test Centuries after scoring 123 runs on the third day of second Test against Australia at Perth .
